Landfill Slope and Cell Construction
Bringing Construction GPS to the Landfill Operator
Compaction is not the only consideration for a landfill compactor or bulldozer operator when burying waste. He must also accurately build lifts, slopes and cells to plan. the GeoLogic Orion™, running GCS:Density©, includes construction features that make it easier for operators to tell when they are on grade. Eliminate Overbuild
Penalties for exceeding the permitted design and over-building a landfill slope can be quite expensive. Removing and relocating that waste is likely to be even more costly. Operators using GCS:Density© have constant access to the design information they need to build to plan every time and eliminate accidental overbuild. When he needs to locate an exterior slope, there is no room for error.

Work With Multiple Designs
The GPS GeoLogic System can store up to eight landfill design plans as part of any one job. This allows operators the freedom to easily switch to the design appropriate for their current project. For instance, operators could load a "top-of-waste" design that details the entire landfill, load a second design for the current cell, a third for an interim design within that cell, and then toggle between all of them as necessary.

Create Slopes and Lifts
GCS:Density's Top Grade function allows operators to set a reference grade or slope, which temporarily modifies the current design. Operators use this feature to build quick lifts and slopes accurately, when it is simply too much trouble or expense to request an interim design change for a small task.

Move the System Between Vehicles
The GeoLogic Orion™ is designed to be portable, and can be moved between any vehicle equipped with the appropriate GeoLogic wiring harness. Move the system from a compactor to a bulldozer to construct cells or put down cover, then move it from a bulldozer to a UTV or pickup truck to conduct site surveys. GeoLogic can install wiring harnesses on any piece of customer equipment, regardless of make and model.

Conduct Your Own Surveys
Unlike other landfill GPS systems, GeoLogic's includes professional surveying tools alongside the construction and compaction functionality. Operators have the freedom to conduct their own site surveys from a vehicle without paying a surveyor. No formal training is needed. Landfill operators commonly request the installation of an extra wiring harness on a utility vehicle so that they have the option of periodically moving their compactor or bulldozer GPS system to a pickup truck or UTV to conduct surveys.

Import/Export to/from Popular Civil Survey Software
The data collection and design files used in GeoLogic software are all written in a simplified PNEZD text format, which makes for easy import and export to and from most civil survey programs, including AutoCAD Civil3D. GCS:Density© can also import line and point data from AutoCAD DXF and DWG formatted files for use as design surface or reference information.
