Roadwork Staking | Machine Control

GeoLogic Computer Systems and the GeoSite Manager System put control of the engineering back in the contractor's hands. GCS software and equipment allows your crew to preform all the tasks of the surveyor, and control your machines with unparalled speed and precision - saving you valuable time and money.

Send the Surveyor Home!

Once a surveyor establishes control on a job, your crew can do all their own staking and grading with an ATV-mounted Rapid Survey System (RSS). No more down time waiting days for the surveyor to show up, then waiting even longer for the surveyor to stake. Even during construction, staking is so fast and easy, you can stake around moving equipment.

Improve Your Data Accuracy

Data quality is higher with GCS software. GCS survey data is often more accurate than professional surveyor data because computerization greatly reduces human error. GCS surveys are more durable, because disturbed stakes can be easily and accurately replaced. Cut and fill calculations are made instantaneously for any point on a roadway for convenient staking. In fact, staking is optional during final grade checking -- simply drive your RSS along the grade and spray paint needed changes on the surface.

Conduct Quick Surveys

With an ATV-mounted RSS, contractors can conduct quick and accurate surveys to check the work of surveyors for error and subcontractors for compliance. Survey a project daily and volumize moved earth to generate detailed and accurate progress reports and get paid promptly for completions. Map a gravel pit before and after and know exactly how much you pay for. Put in string line faster than ever possible, or eliminate them with machine control.

Better Staking With GCS Software

Several software modules make this functionality possible. Map and volumize with GCS: Topo. Use GCS: Station to perform station based grade checking, or place stakes from other data with GCS: Field. Record the position of those stakes on an on-screen map with GCS: Point and return to those points if any stakes should be disturbed.

Adapt the Software to Your Equipment

GCS software has been used with a wide variety of positional equipment. For information on supported hardware, contact us.

GCS software adds intelligent control to your existing machine and valve control equipment. With GCS software and GPS equipment, contractors can easily create horizontal and vertical curvature, supers, and transitional and independent grades. Computer driven machine control simplifies the job of the operator and saves time training operators by eliminating the need to learn to operate valve equipment. Fewer passes are needed to create the proper grade when it's done right the first time by computer controlled graders, bulldozers and trimmers.
