From cell construction to
capping, GCS products take the guesswork out of waste disposal.

Map and stake quickly and accurately with an ATV-mounted Rapid
Survey System (RSS), outfit your excavating and compacting equipment
with GCS computerized control hardware for highly efficient operation,
and plan, control and monitor progress with the functionality of
the GeoSite Manager System.
Cell Construction
With the RSS, you have the option of constructing a survey-quality
map of the surface and staking the cell, or you can hire a surveyor
to map and stake the project.
If you decide to construct your own map, no other system collects
accurate points faster. The RSS is especially useful for large projects
like cell construction, because you can quickly map large areas
using the GeoSite Manager System module GCS:
Topo.
With an RSS, you can stake whenever you want, wherever you want,
faster than any surveyor can. Placing a stake takes approximately
one minute with the RSS and GCS: Point
and it requires only one operator to do it. In addition, the RSS
is capable of hauling all necessary equipment and supplies onboard,
eliminating the need for a rod man.
If you decide to hire a surveyor to map and stake a site, you can
upload their data as NEZ information or a .DXF file into the RSS.
You can then compare their record of the points to the actual location
of the stakes. On large jobs, it's very common for surveyors to
make a few transpositional errors because they log points manually.
Catching these errors with the RSS is easy. All points from the
surveyors appear grapically on the RSS screen, making glaring errors
obvious. If you want to check a point, the software can grapically
direct you to the location, and you can verify the position with
the onboard positioning rod.

RSS over conventional survey methods and systems, click

When excavation begins, you can replace stakes as necessary, on
your own time schedule, and only in the areas that you need. Surveyors
can charge $100 per stake, often require 3 days notice, and prefer
to stake an entire site at once. With the RSS, you can set up in
minutes, stake only what you need, and then resume construction.
In fact, most users simply replace stakes as construction continues.
For even further accuracy and efficiency, install GCS computerized
control on excavating equipment. GCS computerized control hardware
monitors equipment position and blade depth.
Monitor how compact the pile is with accurate positional data.
Track the level of compaction graphically and numerically from the
operator cab or office, and respond quickly to problem areas with
information provided by GCS:
Density.
